Every morning you wake up hoping your energy levels are going to be better than the day before.
You might grab a coffee as your eyes are still closed, and then shuffle to the shower or workout (or whatever your morning routine includes), hoping and praying that at some point your energy levels kick in and wondering how to increase your energy level naturally.
If this sounds familiar, you’re already starting out with an energy deficit and may have some level of adrenal fatigue.
For important details on the signs of adrenal fatigue read my article The Adrenal Body Type.
When your energy levels are low, your body is relying on cortisol and Reverse T3, a survival thyroid hormone, to get out of bed. Cortisol is your stress hormone, and when it is chronically being tapped, your blood sugar increases and your body can gain weight without eating processed foods or sugar.
What is energy?
Energy comes from the ATP, or Adenosine Triphosphate, production in the mitochondria, or the “brain”, of the cells. The mitochondria are the “factory” in which ATP is created; they are the powerhouses of your cells. ATP is the energy currency in your body, and ATP production in the mitochondria declines with age and disease. In order to increase energy, you want to increase the electron transport chain per mitochondria, to increase the number of ATP in the mitochondria, and to increase the efficiency and productivity of the ATP.
Mitophagy is the cleaning out, recycling and killing of damaged mitochondria. This is similar to Autophagy, which is the repair and killing of diseased cells. The integrity of the cells and the ability for the cells to allow nutrients in and toxins out is referred to as “Phase Angle.” Phase Angle is important as you read below because your energy will be derived from nutrients coming into the cells and toxins coming out of the cells. Mitophagy and Autophagy are important for optimal cellular energy.
What NOT to eat for energy?
It is just as important to avoid certain foods as it is to include certain foods for energy.
Certain foods will deplete your energy levels, causing a quick rise and quick fall in blood sugar.
Energy levels may spike for a short time but will simultaneously lower the ATP production in the mitochondria and tap into the adrenals for support, causing leaky gut.
Foods to NOT eat for energy include:
- High fructose corn syrup
Your energy will also become depleted if you eat frequently throughout the day; the constant need to digest quick carbs throughout the day will cause inflammation, and halt any new production of ATP in the mitochondria cells.
After the quick rise and drop in energy levels, you will be searching for more energy and need to refuel with those quick absorbing carbs and sugar; it is a vicious cycle.
Additionally, those quick absorbing grains and sugars will actually deplete the body of the B vitamins and vitamin D which are essential for true cellular energy.
You will also want to avoid the vegetable oils that are toxic and inflammatory to the body.
Those include canola oil, corn oil, rice bran oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil, and peanut oil. Lastly, you want to avoid GMO foods, covered in toxins that wreak havoc on your gut, causing malabsorption of nutrients, and diminished hormonal production. Also, those toxins decrease the health of your cells and mitochondria and lead to a decrease in Phase Angle.
What you SHOULD eat for energy?
The goal is to keep your carbs under 30-50 grams a day to stabilize your blood sugar, help your body learn to tap into your own fat stores for energy. By focusing on a Low Carb or Ketogenic diet including clean protein, ideally organic and wild animal protein and fish, green vegetables that are high in potassium and magnesium, you are increasing the ATP production in the mitochondria and increasing “mitophagy”.
Furthermore, the animal proteins contain all the important nutrients your body needs for energy; those include all the vitamin B’s and iron. Lastly, by adding in healthy fats including olive oil, coconut oil, butter, ghee, and avocados, energy production will be long-lasting and stable. Couple these foods with Intermittent Fasting, and the level of autophagy and mitophagy increases significantly.
Supplements to help increase your energy levels naturally
Acceleradine. Sufficient iodine in all tissues and cells helps to produce a healthy 36 ATP’s through the Krebs cycle, which has profound implications for all levels of function, including brain function. When we are low in iodine, we tend to transition into glycolysis, which only produces 2 ATP, bypassing the normal Krebs cycle and the mitochondria altogether. This significantly lower ATP production greatly contributes to low vital life-force and disease.
Accelerated Keto. The additional ingredients in the Accelerated Keto break down saturated fats into unsaturated fats. These unsaturated fats are easier for the body to utilize and easier for the body to convert to ketones. Imagine a wax candle that is solid, and when we light the candle, the solid wax (fat) turns into a liquid, which is then taken up by the wick to burn easily. Because of this property, Accelerated Keto is able to de-fat the liver as well. It is well known that the liver is responsible for converting stored fat into ketones. The more a person’s liver is defatted and unclogged, the easier it is for the liver to function in all areas including producing ketones. The liver is also where the thyroid hormone converts from T4 to T3, and as the liver function becomes better, the thyroid works better as well, increasing metabolism and energy further.
Ascent Diet Cleanse. This comprehensive cleanse incorporates the Accelerated Keto, Acceleradine, Accelerated Silver, Accelerated Cellular Detox Powder and supplements to help flush gallstones and liver stones out of the body safely. The synergistic combination increases ATP production and efficacy, increases mitophagy, autophagy, thyroid health, metabolism, mental clarity, physical energy, endurance, and anti-inflammatory mechanisms. As a result, clients lose body fat, especially the dangerous visceral fat, increase the cells’ phase angle or the cells’ ability to absorb nutrients and release toxins that affect ATP production, while improving mental and physical energy.
Energy Enhancer Patches. These increase ATP production in the mitochondria, increase Heart Rate Variability, improve the bioelectrical measurement or “phase angle” or integrity of the cell walls, reduce inflammation, and increase endurance. Just after 20 minutes, the capacity of each cell increases. With age, the cell walls become rigid and hard to penetrate with nutrients coming in and toxins going out. The Energy Enhancer Patches soften that cell wall and improve that phase angle within five minutes of applying the patch. Additionally it improves digestion and circulation which are essential for nutrient absorption that leads to improved energy. Lastly, it increases beta-oxidation which is the fastest way to increase cellular energy. As a plus, it increases fat burning and muscle growth. They work synergistically with the Accelerated Keto in your fat burning and tapping into an endless supply of fuel source on your body.
X39 Patches. These patches increase your own stem cell production and resets 4000 Genes to Younger State. As a result, it helps repair collagen in all tissues, activates stem cell production, encourages apoptosis of cancer cells, and discourages metastatic cancer cells.Through clinical studies, an improvement in overall energy of the body, organ balance, and symmetry distribution of energy was improved as well.
Carnosine Patches. Carnosine is a naturally occurring antioxidant in the body, of which production declines with age. Studies on carnosine show that it plays a vital role in overall health, neuroprotection and anti-aging. In clinical studies, carnosine has also been shown to improve flexibility, strength, balance and endurance. For athletes it has been shown to blunt the lactic acid effect that slows muscle and endurance progress.
Aeon Patches. The Aeon Lifewave patch is known as the “Happy Patch”. It increases SOD antioxidants in the body, and is turning on our innate immune system. It puts you into the parasympathetic state so you are not constantly in the sympathetic state of “fight or flight”. The benefits include: stress reduction, a healthy inflammatory response, a reduction of cortisol & C reactive proteins, an elevation of DHEA, a calm sense of well-being, and increased energy. It is like eating 30 cups of royal jelly a day which is connected to increasing longevity.
Potassium With Ola Loa. Thirty percent of all energy is allocated to the sodium potassium pump in the cell. This pump is the mechanism for the movement of electrolytes through the cell membrane. It is the battery that maintains the electrical charge to move sodium out and potassium into the cell. Without potassium you will lose energy, brain function, experience cramping and constipation, have swelling or edema and more.
Accelerated Ancient Salt. A lack of proper sodium intake will cause additional issues with the sodium potassium pump and actually lead to water retention. When you put a little Accelerated Ancient Salt on your tongue, you will experience a boost of energy and a decrease in appetite.
Sleep. Sleep is imperative for cellular health and repair. Without proper sleep, aging is accelerated and physical and mental energy suffer. It is proven that sleep increases testosterone and human growth hormone which are directly related to improved energy and increased ATP production.
Fasting. Fasting is a hormetic stressor that allows the body to increase its mitophagy and autophagy, heal Leaky Gut, increase metabolism and thyroid health, increase ATP production in the mitochondria, and allow the body to switch into Ketosis, tapping into its own fat stores for energy.
Cold Exposure. Cold exposure is a hormetic stress that increases short term adrenaline and cortisol to give you a boost in short term energy.
Far Infrared Sauna. This hormetic “good” stress increases detoxification, increases ATP production, balances hormones, and increases energy.
HIIT Workout. High Intensity Interval Training increases testosterone, Human Growth Hormone and ATP production at a cellular level.
Sunlight. Exposing yourself to direct sunlight for ten minutes in the morning will regulate your natural cortisol increase. Cortisol produces energy and is healthy to have an increased level short term. The morning exposure also regulates proper thyroid hormones to increase energy.
Breathing. By doing a double inhale, and single exhale, or 25-30 deep inhales through the nose and out of the mouth, you will increase your adrenaline short term and increase your energy.
